The battle is seen first-hand in Season 5, and is rather underplayed given the amount of foreshadowing and importance given to it before. Later, in Season 3 another vision of this battle is shown, but it's completely different from the vision showed before. Ishizu shows Kaiba a vision of the battle.

10-Minute Retirement: In the wake of his defeat to Kaiba towards the end of the Duelist Kingdom arc, Yugi suffers a Heroic BSoD and vows never to duel again, saying he is afraid of the way Dark Yugi was prepared to win the duel even if Kaiba was killed as a result.Hands down, the final duel between Yugi and Atem is the best of the season.

It made for an incredible duel that was a ton of fun to watch. It is a very hard-fought battle, but in the end, Yugi was able to take the win and prove to Atem that he was ready to stand on his own.

It's an incredibly tough battle that Yugi almost loses quite a few times, but he manages to defeat some of the strongest monsters in the entire game and beat the most awarded duelist of all time.

In this duel, Yugi manages to take out every single one of the Egyptian God cards (which proves to Kaiba that he really is the King of Games) and the Dark Magician. In this duel, Atem actually controls fate the entire time, drawing every card he needs in order to assure that Yugi will be okay without him. The duel is a test of strength for Yugi to ensure that he'll be okay to stand on his own if Atem is allowed to go to his final resting place. The ceremonial duel is the final duel of the final season, and it is held between Yugi and Atem.
